Mother’s Day Appeal
Happy Mother’s Day!
This is the time of year to celebrate your mothers, daughters, wives or sisters. Sadly, in some cases, it is remembering those family members who are no longer with us.
Also at this time of year, as we celebrate our milestone 25th anniversary of providing free programs for those affected by cancer, we want to thank you, our valued donors.
Your contributions have helped generations of grandmothers, mothers and daughters find the free professional help and support they need.
You have touched thousands of lives impacted by cancer right here in your local community.
Motherhood can be a mixed blessing of challenges and joy. None more heart breaking then when you learn your child has cancer. When Maddie was in 2nd grade, she was diagnosed with ALL: acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Her treatment included daily oral chemotherapy, monthly infusions and other painful procedures which she feared.
Because of you, CSCGP was there to help.
Maddie attended Kid’s support at CSCGP to help her deal with these fears. Both of her parents, Christine and Harry, attended the corresponding parent support group to find support and resources. Her sisters (Abby 12 and Isabelle 7) attended summer camp along with Maddie to learn coping skills and ask questions about cancer. Her grandmother Bette (a longtime volunteer at CSCGP) accompanied them to social functions like the annual holiday party. Your continued support with a gift of $100 provides a full month of supplies for these family programs.
When Maddie was in the hospital, her older sister Abby would often call her from school crying to find out how she was doing. Also, Maddie’s teacher put a big stuffed monkey in her empty seat, which Maddie named Coconut, to help explain cancer to Maddie’s young classmates.
Because of you, CSCGP is helping children dealing with stress and anxieties in area schools like Maddie, Abby and Isabelle.
Professionally led support groups are offered to children and teens directly in their school during the normal school day to provide coping skills. Your continue support with a gift of $250 provides support for one child for 6 months.
Because of you, CSCGP is helping more and more families like Maddie’s.
We pride ourselves on providing a warm, home-like environment for both children and adults. Your donation of $500 will help us with needed supplies and help us continue to serve local families.
Thank you for being a valued donor and part of our community. Through your continued donations, you have given someone the best mother’s day gift of all…so that no one faces cancer alone!
