Housecalls

The new Housecalls Program is available for families who are active members at Cancer Support Community Greater Philadelphia and have participated in any of our children and teen programs.  Housecalls is effective as of April 10th and throughout the next 6 weeks until May 15th.

Due to the Covid19 pandemic, we realize that families may be experiencing layoffs and financial hardships which results in food insecurity.  We also are aware of the additional anxiety cancer patients and their families experience going out to the grocery store because of the possiblity of being exposed to the virus.

Because of this, we are matching generous restaurants willing to donate and deliver meals to local families that meet the criteria above..

Cancer patients and their families are among the most vulnerable right now. They must be extraordinarily vigilant as they visit doctor offices for treatments that lower their immune system . This program is a way we can do our part to keep these families safe.  Also, this program gives families a break from meal prepping and planning. Families say that any day that they don’t have cook is a great day, eliminating one item off their to-do list and providing more time and energy to focus on their children.

CSCGP’s physical sites are closed; however, House Calls and other virtual programs are filling the hearts, minds and dinner tables of members in the toughest of times.  From virtual workshop to dinners delivered…the CSCGP team won’t be stopped by COVID 19 so that no one faces cancer alone.

To request a meal delivery or if you are a caterer or restaurant that wishes to deliver meals, please email Beth at info@cancersupportphiladelphia.org or call 215-441-3290.
